Ruins
Ruins? is an empty place in which you wander endlessely. Bricks are flying away around you, but the structure never seems to be fully destroyed. There is no beginning or end in this oniric experience. Where are you ? When are you ? What happens when you're not looking ?
Ruins? is meant to be played with a custom controller : a brick that you use as a mouse. With it you can move the camera's direction. That's the only interaction, the camera is moving around on it's own.
This project was made in 2021-2022 during my last year of numerical arts bachelor. It refers to our perception of time through the symbol of the ruin, and the infinity of the experience. It's also an empty place that leaves room to project your own interpretation and narrative.
The way it was displayed is quite important for the experience. It was projected on a wide screen, and the audio came from a surround set up which was really contributing to the immersion of the spectator. Also they would be interacting with this experience with a brick, sliding it around to move the camera. The brick was a bit heavy and they'd really have to push it and feel it to look around, that was another way of getting the spectator immersed in the exprience.
